No external wires, making it simple to implant; hermetically sealed for biocompatibility. Ideal for studies monitoring behaviour and stress response in laboratory animal research, wildlife studies, animal welfare, and fish physiology. Allows correlation between heart rate and activity, useful for stress response studies. Available with two or three sensors: activity and temperature, or activity, heart rate, and temperature. Heart rate derived from a leadless single channel ECG; electrodes are part of the housing for easy implantation. Burst measurement of ECG at set intervals, calculates mean heart rate for each recording; each burst graded with a QI (quality index) accessible in the application software. Measures acceleration in three dimensions, providing an overview of changes in animal activity over time. Battery life over 19 months with a 10-minute sampling interval; suitable for long-term, stress-free studies. Two sampling modes: single interval or multiple intervals (up to 7 different intervals). Individually calibrated, comes with a calibration certificate; accuracy and performance guaranteed for one year after purchase. Usage Designed for ease of use from setup, implantation, to data retrieval and analysis. Supported by Mercury software and Communication Box (required for first order). Logger is programmed via Communication Box and software; user sets start time, date, and sampling interval. Multiple measurement intervals can be set for the same study. Software calculates memory fill and battery consumption based on interval settings. Data is uploaded via Communication Box; results displayed graphically and in tables, exportable to other programs. Logger can be sterilized and reused as long as the battery lasts; battery is not replaceable. Accessories Communication Box: Interface between logger and PC, used for starting logger and retrieving data, includes USB cable. Mercury software: Graphical Windows software for setup, data retrieval, and export; free updates. Implantation Leadless design and small size make implantation simple and minimally invasive. Recommended to implant subcutaneously close to the heart for best ECG signal. Suitable for large animals such as cattle, sheep, pigs, and bears. Can be sterilized and reused as long as the battery lasts; avoid sterilization methods exceeding 60°C.
