OverviewGIGAALASER combines two parallel working wavelengths of 980nm and 1470nm to introduce the HPLASⅡ for urology. HPLASⅡ operates dual wavelengths of 980nm and 1470nm running in parallel with a stated maximum output of 200W, achieving optimal absorption in water and hemoglobin which results in a high rate of ablation combined with a strong hemostatic effect. The dual laser design aims to spare internal structures of the prostate and can help prevent retrograde ejaculation in some patients. The excellent hemostatic profile minimizes blood loss during and after the procedure and promotes favorable healing and symptom relief.

Principle of treatmentThe treatment commences by inserting a cystoscope containing the BPH probe through the urethra. The head of the bare fiber is pushed out of the probe and the dual laser of 980nm and 1470nm is discharged from the probe head. The operator steers and rotates the probe to ablate tissue in a circular motion; the funnel grows larger step by step and the BPH probe is withdrawn at the end, restoring urine flow.
